Powerful statements from powerful people makes for effective communication. Giving others the ability to feel poweful allows them to become more effective and communicative.
Employees are the life blood of our operation. Yes, we may have hired them, and we may have trained them, but without the execution of their duties on a daily basis, we would never survive. Remember, the reason we hired them was for their abilities, so we must harness those abilities to their full potential.
So what is it that makes our operation run better than the competitor?
It is our knowledge of empowerment that sets us apart. We must empower our employees by providing them with the tools and support they need to achieve personal greatness within their respective positions. Every individual wants to be thanked for their efforts, and an employee is no different. Heck, a CEO wants to be told by all his board members how good a job he has done growing the company! So, why would the janitor not want to be thanked for his good works?
As an entrepreneur and a leader, we want to give our employees the power to feel confident and excited about their position within our businesses.
We want each employee to feel like they have an open line of communication upwards as well as downwards. Employees can be given the opportunity to make suggestions for changes within our operations, and this will make them feel more involved, as well as possibly improve the efficiency of that particular process. Empowering our employees is not just about telling them what a great job they are doing, it is about giving them the power to feel like they are an owner of the company, even if they are not. Every employee wants to be excited about going to their job in the morning; it is our responsibility as entrepreneurs to provide an environment in which they can do just that, by empowering them with a sense of ownership and commitment. This is the mark of a successfully run enterprise.
